Freshred.com (underbreath: pricks)

This is a story full of people that use questionable business practices (well, sort of).

It has already happened. I will probably be sued if they have any success. They of course are freshred.com, a music listing site for the LA area.

I had the option of getting freshred.com as my domain, but selected freshred.net since a particular domain hosting provider parked freshred.com when I looked to see if it was available.

Actually freshred.com sort of looks neat. I like how they have it linked with Google maps. And in fact I wish them success.

But still, the URL’s are so close. Now, I cry and pray to baby Bejesus.

Google.org goes for profit

Well this is slightly surprising. Google’s philanthropic arm, has decided to be classified as for profit. So they have to pay taxes, but that means they can do just about whatever they want. Well I don’t to recap the NY Times article).

The coolest thing I found coming off it was of course DesiLassi. Now I can listen to Bollywood film songs to my heart’s content. I’m sure my roommates will hate me when I am blasting them at 3am, but I think that is a spiritual void in them lashing out.

Relatively new apartment

We are all getting settled in the new apartment. And as a sign that we are really settled in we set up all of our entertainment and communication needs in one compact area.

Entertainment center

As you can see we have the TV Tuner, XBox360, LCD projector, original NES, cable modem, wireless router(with high gain antennas), and speakers. Now we just need some extra fans and maybe hook it up to a micro-controller to automatically sense the temperature and control the fans.
