It was a mild fall day and the protaganist had a half-dozen half-written blog entries. But with a fresh install of XP and a hankering to install linux, he was on the prowl for a quick tool to burn an ISO rom image. Amazingly Microsoft came to his aid. There is a cool set of tools that include a CD and a DVD burning command line program.

I’m still looking at the extra tool microsoft offers, but they are not very easy to locate and find the useful ones.

• XP service pack 2 Support tools
• Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools (works on XP, even though it’s called Server 2003 RKT)
• Microsoft Network Monitor 3.1

Well maybe next time I will finish an old post instead of creating a completely new one.

Well this is slightly surprising. Google’s philanthropic arm, has decided to be classified as for profit. So they have to pay taxes, but that means they can do just about whatever they want. Well I don’t to recap the NY Times article).

The coolest thing I found coming off it was of course DesiLassi. Now I can listen to Bollywood film songs to my heart’s content. I’m sure my roommates will hate me when I am blasting them at 3am, but I think that is a spiritual void in them lashing out.
